Back on the cube...

Ok...I guess I actually look at this once every two month's but I said I was going to do better. If I can actually figure out how to navigate on here I may be more inclined to do more with it. Plus I guess since I'm always a lil busy it's hard to do stuff on here. I actually don't get to watch much TV because of that, which is why a brother don't have cable. Now don't get me wrong...I can afford it.It's just why pay for something that I'll use 5% of?? I'd rather use that money to take a trip out of town. June has been good so far. I've had some fun in Memphis in May and this past weekend. The sisterhood showcase was tight... Be sure to check out this artist named Urban Mystic, he's on the come up but the brother had some tight tracks. Big shout out to Elise Neal for coming back to her hometown and putting it down with her girls. I think she was nevous cause she fell on the stage like Michele from Destiny's Chilld but she got right up and played that junt off!!(memphis talk) It's time for another trip somewhere. I plan on going to NYC to see the Color Purple then going to London and France! Yea I'm going international. Watch out London here comes Binghampton!!

Century Club - 100 Years

The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc is celebrating 100 years of leadership, service and love for all mankind. Since it's inception in 1906 we have been pillars in the community. Here in Memphis, TN April 6th - 9th we are hosting the 75th Southern Region convention. The host hotel is the Memphis Marriott. For more information see www.alphaphialpha.net Now that I have said all the official stuff....lemme say this! 1-1-1-1-9!!
I am going to be STRAIGHT Beta Xi (Bloody) come Friday and Saturday! I'm taking the step boots to get shined...gon break out the frat shirt and BE OUT!!! I think if I take two vitamins a day...that might get me though:-) Memphis..get ready cause the APE's are going to be on the loose.
On another note: My condolences go out to all the other greeks of the Divine Nine, especially the Sigmas. They are having their convention in Memphis as well, the same weekend as ours. I saw one last night and I got the feeling he thought we we in competition with each other. I hate to bust his bubble but uuhhra... There in no competition with Alpha, esp. the Southern Region of Alpha. This is the beginning of a takeover. All year...all you are going to see & hear about is Alpha. And this time the Revolution will be televised. I'll be on channel 3 Weds the 5th:) Until then AAAAAA- Phi!

2005 the beginning of an era

As 2005 comes to a close, I reflect back on the events that happend in 2005 that will help shape the rest of my life. My grandmother passing was a big one. My first Thanksgiving and Christmas without her just didn't feel right. Other events include a long term relationship break up, my father being in the hospital and me going to real estate school. No, not all events are bad. However all laid the foundation of me to expect and believe that 2006 is going to be an outstanding year! I do believe that what you do now helps determine and mold your future. How was your 05'? Do you believe that what you do now deterimes your future succes or failure, if so to what extent?

An ear and two eyes are all I need on this journey...

Hum...Now how does this thing work?? Ok, I guess that's it. I just created this "blog" to express myself about things going on in my 6 degrees. Yea I beleive in the "six degrees of separation theory". With stuff thats going on with me right now I've had at least three different people to tell me that I should/ COULD write a book. One day I may take time out to actually do it. Who knows?? Then they will come back after they seeing me on Oprah and want their cut! That's how you know you made it. Anyway, I think I'm a simple man that want simple things. Life doesn't have to be complicated. Even though we are humans, we are still animals. Mammals to be exact. It's when we became "Humans" that we started to complicate things. A good friend of mine turned me on to blogging. He has some good words on his. As soon as I figure out how to navigate this thing I'll put his link up. A lil bit about me...?? I think Tupac was wise beyond his time and foolish also. Some of his words make perfect sense and some of his actions make no sense. Right now my theme is "I did it my way" by Frank Sinatra. Yo the song is tight, just listen to the words! I listen to a lot of different music, try to experiance different things and try to keep an open and objective mind. Some people think they know who I am by just looking at me. Then when they talk to me they be like "wow I had you figured all wrong". Just because I wear a suit and tie most of the times doesn't mean that there is not a down to earth side to me. A very real "of the people" side to me. They see me and think I don't get my hands dirty or thought I was probably spoiled growing up. Then they talk to me and find out quite the opposite. They put too much humanism (if that's a word) in me. For right now I'll leave you with this quote which I got from a very good friend of mine who is a Dr. of Sociology "A mind that remains in the present atmosphere never undergoes sufficient developement to experiance what is commonly known as thinking" CGW.
